In the Autumn Garden

Autumn is my favourite season. I adore it more than any other.
The autumn sun begins to envelope all in its glow ~ October's wood smoke and a feast of the gardens bounty call us together to share time with those around us and give thanks ~ The labour of the summer gardens begins to fade and thoughts of a new, refreshed soul take flight.  This year, Autumn appears to be in a hurry . . .

~

Most of these now lay on the earths floor, responsible for that unmistaken, incredible fragrance that only autumn can provide ~

The seed pods of the Amur Maple rattle gently in the brisk autumn breeze ~

The beauty of autumn grasses ~

"Autumn is the eternal corrective.  It is ripeness and color and a time of
maturity; but it is also breadth, and depth, and distance.
What man can stand with autumn on a hilltop and fail to see
the span of his world and the meaning of the rolling hills
that reach to the far horizon?"
