JANUARY always finds me longing for spring. While I do love the crisp cold and almost always sunny days of winter, the mad rush of the Christmas season is done, the world around us returns to a more "normal" pace and shorter daylight hours seem to linger. Seed catalogues have arrived and hours have been spent planning and dreaming of the growing season ahead.
The green house is blanketed in a beautiful winter frost awaiting the seedlings which will soon cover its barren shelves.
WHILE I patiently await springs true arrival, I indulge in pretty, fresh bunches of tulips now being found in abundance at the local grocers. As close as I'm going to get for a little while.
JANUARY always also finds me reflecting, planning, preparing. My creative soul has had a gentle rest and is now flowing with ideas for the next season. I have taken a very keen interest in photography. I'm taking online courses in photoshop and the use of textures and while I'm, um, lets say finding myself technically challenged, I'm learning every day and the possibilities are endless.
THIS year, from this gentle reawakening, change will come once again to Moss Cottage. We'll start to fill you in on the details over the next few weeks so stay in touch. For now we can say there's a big spring clean coming and you'll need to prepare your gathering attire.
I continue to discover my creative self everyday and hope to inspire and share and learn along the way. In my life, there are only two things of which I am absolutely certain - make the best decisions you can and move on, the moment of absolute certainty almost never arrives and, that I will always and forever miss my mother, the rest is up for grabs, open to possibilities and in the words of Dr. Seuss ~
"Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh the things you can think up
if only you try!".
THANKS for joining me and until then, for those of you who have taken the time to tap into our new blog, thank you! The technically challenged part of me is hindering my desire to get things out on the blog as quickly as I'd like but we're getting there, getting more comfortable and I will always welcome your comments, suggestions, feedback. I love to write and the idea of public journaling or blogging is intriguing to me and on that note I'll simply ask this - is anybody really out there? LOL!
